Abstract: Commercial law at the University of Padua after the Unity of Italy – The paper traces the history of the first selection procedure for the chair of Commercial Law announced in the University of Padua after the unification of Italy and won by Adolfo Sacerdoti; the procedure is placed in the context of the history of the discipline within the curriculum of Padua’s legal studies, going back to its first appearances in the second half of the eighteenth century.
