statement on ethics and unethical practices in the publication of scientific papers

Publisher

Piccin Nuova Libraria S.p.A., in its capacity as publisher of the Review, is committed to ensuring the highest standards in the editorial care of the Review, both in print and digital versions.

The publisher condemns any violation of current copyright laws and undertakes to publish, where necessary, errata corrigenda to ensure contributions based on rigorous scientific and/or research data.

The publisher always makes itself available for a discussion aimed at improving the Review and pursuing the purposes for which it was founded in 1903: the renewal and arrangement of our commercial law.

Management Committee and Editorial Board

The Journal is based on the process of selecting contributions for publication by peer review.

The Editorial Board undertakes to make the Operational Guidelines for the contribution evaluation system knowable, transparent and easily available.

The Management guarantees that the contribution evaluation process is carried out in a fair, timely, transparent and impartial manner, ensuring that each contribution is sent to the reviewer in complete anonymity.

The Management also guarantees that no form of discrimination will ever be applied and avoids any conflict of interest.

The Management also undertakes to maintain the highest scientific standard of the published content at all times.

If errors are discovered, the Management undertakes to inform the Publisher so that it can proceed with the publication of the errata.

Lastly, the editors undertake to respect and enforce the regulations in force concerning copyright and copyright infringement.

Scientific evaluation committee

The Scientific Evaluation Committee is a structure external to the Journal and supports the Editorial Board in the evaluation of contributions to be published in the Journal.

The Scientific Evaluation Committee ensures that the evaluation of contributions is carried out objectively, promptly, clearly and without conflicts of interest.

Each member of the Scientific Evaluation Committee guarantees scrupulous respect for the principle of confidentiality, undertaking not to divulge documents submitted for its evaluation or news related to them.

Authors

Authors guarantee to submit original, unpublished articles not submitted for consideration to other journals to the Scientific Assessment Committee.

The Authors guarantee that the submission of the contribution to the Journal does not violate any thirdparty rights. They guarantee that they have all the necessary authorisations for the publication of the contribution and that they have not infringed in any way, in the drafting of the same, the regulations in force regarding copyright.

The Authors also guarantee the truthfulness and correctness of what is reported in the article, undertaking to make appropriate and timely errata corrections where errors or inaccuracies are found a posteriori.

If other persons have contributed to the drafting of the article, they must be indicated as co-authors/contributors, depending on the extent of their contribution.

By submitting the article for evaluation, the Authors accept, in case of acceptance by the Scientific Evaluation Committee, the publication of the same in the Journal, ceding the relevant rights to the Publisher and retaining the moral rights on the work.

Finally, the Authors undertake to disclose any conflicts of interest they may have in relation to the evaluation or the content of the contribution.

Operational guidelines for the contribution evaluation system

The editors submit each contribution sent for publication – whether it is intended for part one or rather part two – to the judgement of a member of the scientific evaluation committee, which is a structure external to the journal. The only exceptions may concern conference papers and pro-veritate opinions, the decision on the publication of which, even in the absence of external evaluation, is left to the Management.

The evaluator is chosen by the Editorial Board on the basis of specific expertise in relation to the subject of the contribution being evaluated.

The contribution is sent to the evaluator by the Management in anonymous form.

Within twenty days of receipt of the contribution, the evaluator sends the Directorate a form containing the evaluation made, which concludes with an indication of merit or non-deserving of publication.

In the event of a judgment of non-worthiness, the evaluator may, if he or she so wishes, also formulate indications to the author on the observance of which the opinion in favour of publication may be conditional. These indications are forwarded by the Editorial Board, which will communicate them to the author, who is of course free not to comply with them. In any case, the modified contribution is also submitted to a new evaluator for examination.
